Luanne Lawrence, Senior Consultant, has spent 25 years working for some of the best universities in America as a leader in marketing and communications. Her passion lies in market strategy development and in bringing out the best in teams as they work together to puzzle through innovative ways to reach audiences.
In her work at Oregon State University, the viral campaign, “Powered by Orange,” took advantage of a growing social media culture and precision messaging to create an extensive engagement campaign involving alumni, faculty, staff, students and prospective students and their families. At the University of South Carolina, she worked with her team to develop the first integrated marketing communications plan. At UC Davis, an extensive staffing assessment led to contemporary position descriptions and more efficient teams in a matrix reporting structure. She also worked in marketing and communications for the Pennsylvania State University at Harrisburg, Lock Haven University (Pennsylvania), the University of Baltimore and the University of Maine.
Active in the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, American Marketing Association, Public Relations Society of America and other national organizations and boards, Luanne works in marketing strategy and organizational development as well as in coaching teams to implement integrated marketing. She has worked with organizations to create buy-in for their marketing plans and to streamline their thinking about how the organization is different in the minds of their audiences.
Luanne is also passionate about writing and crafts articles, white papers, op-eds, Web copy and fund-raising materials. She is happiest when she is using words to market research and discovery and finding ways to multiply exposure of the story using many different tools.
And… she is a mom to three fabulous children, wife to a terrific husband, a hiker and outdoors person, and wine enthusiast (Oregon Pinot Noir snob).
